This is a brilliant opportunity for dedicated mental healthcare professionals to promote and improve the mental health and well-being of children and young people with physical health conditions and those who care for them. We provide inpatient and outpatient support to patients with a wide range of physical health conditions on a local, regional, national and international basis. Working for the Paediatric Psychosocial Service at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, you'll work with children and young people aged up to 18 years and their families who present with a wide range of complex emotional and behavioral difficulties associated with physical health conditions. You'll be supported to manage a defined caseload and have the responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of children and young people. Roles also include consultation and liaison with medical teams. To contribute to the development, systematic provision and evaluation of a high-quality specialist clinical psychology service to patients within the North of England Epilepsy Surgery Service at RMCH and the NHS England Proton Beam Radiotherapy (PBT) Service at The Christie Hospital. Responsibilities Include assessment and intervention with children, their families and adults, including specialist neuropsychological assessment liaison with the specialist medical teams in Epilepsy and PBT attendance at the multi-disciplinary Epilepsy clinics supervision of assistant psychologists liaison with other national principal treatment centres around the follow up and neuropsychological assessment of PBT patients. work with schools and other community-based professionals working with children staff training consultation, support and provision of psychological advice working within professional guidelines utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development and research liaison and effective teamwork will be required with staff from paediatric services, community health and education as appropriate.
