Working Day The Welfare Manager occupies a key role within the Senior Team and assumes overall responsibility for the care, well-being and safety of the students at the centre. The Welfare Manager is pivotal to ensuring the success of the course and is responsible for upholding the good name and reputation of Bede’s. You will be responsible for allocating students to bedrooms and for making sure, with the support of the Senior House Parents and House Parents, that students are comfortable, happy in their accommodation and that all their basic needs are being met at all times. The Welfare Manager, with the help of the nurse, will organise and oversee the care of any sick children and will be expressly appointed to administer non-prescription medicines to any students suffering from common minor ailments such as sore throats or headaches. It is essential that systems, procedures and protocols are in place to make sure that every aspect of students’ welfare is being considered, monitored and reviewed to make sure that they are living and studying in a clean, safe and happy environment.
