The post-holder will be a professional with experience of working in acute settings, and with an interest in delivering and supporting the delivery of short-form, crisis-focused psychological interventions. They will also be familiar with advocating for psychological perspectives within an MDT setting, and in supporting non-therapies staff to work in a psychologically informed way. The post-holder will have access to regular supervision and a range of opportunities relating to continuing professional development. The post holder will act as a senior clinician within the Older Adult Home Treatment teams. They will provide psychological assessment, formulation and brief therapeutic interventions for clients under the care of the Home Treatment Team; offer advice and consultation to multidisciplinary colleagues; play an integral role in ensuring that psychological perspectives are available, visible and influential in the team's work more broadly; train and develop non-psychology staff in psychologically-informed care; and support more junior therapies staff (including trainee psychologists). The post-holder will also have opportunities to contribute to and lead on service development initiatives within the HTTs. We are looking for an enthusiastic psychologist with experience of and\\or interest in, working within mental health services for older people as part of multi-disciplinary teams. We welcome applications from applicants whose experience is with other client groups who have an interest in working with older adults. You will be expected to work autonomously to promote access to psychological interventions and to encourage psychologically informed care coordination. We are looking for someone that can offer a dynamic and creative approach to service delivery. About Us The Older Adult Home Treatment Team aims to provide an intensive short-term community-based treatment and care package aimed at facilitating recovery at home for people in crisis who would otherwise require inpatient care. We also facilitate early discharge for people receiving inpatient treatment. One HTT works with service users living in Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham and has a team base at the Maudsley. A second team works with service users living in Croydon and is co-located on the Chelsham House ward at the Bethlem Hospital. About the location: The post is split between two Home Treatment Teams. The LSL HTT covers Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham and is based at the Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill, London, SE5 8AZ. The Croydon HTT has bases at The Bethlem Hospital, Monks Orchard, Kent, BR3 3BX.
