The Burns Centre at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital offers specialist burns care to over 900 adults and children with complexed burns each year. This role will require oversight of education and development for new and existing staff within the service including students attending this specialist placement. The PDN will lead in development and advancement of specialist nursing knowledge. Duties will vary on a day-to-day basis depending on educational requirements. These duties will include organisation and running of our in house foundation burns course and external training in burns education. A range of clinical and non-clinical teaching styles required to for fill the role. The post holder will facilitate and support staff in developing their clinical knowledge, skills and competence in burns nursing. The post holder will be the key link for educational activities within the Burns Unit, working closely with the multi-professional team. They will also lead the analysis of training needs. The post holder will work strategically and operationally with the burns nursing team to ensure clinical policies, procedures, guidelines and educational programs to meet the needs of the Unit.
