You will be professionally accountable and responsible for the delivery of clinical care within the ward team with the focus on positive behavioural support to patients. This exciting and challenging role will afford the opportunity for a nurse to gain experience working in a senior role on an inpatient unit, developing skills and experience that will support future career progression. The successful candidate will work within a supportive team that is focused on delivering high standards of care through evidenced based practice. You will be an important key member of the multidisciplinary leadership team, ensuring the overall aims and purpose of the ward are clear and that patient safety is paramount. Candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework. The successful applicant will be working with patients within our 20 bedded older persons ward, working with males and females, with organic and functional illness and their families, and carers. You will help to provide clinical leadership and maintain a positive and open culture within the team. The successful candidate should be passionate about delivering person centered care, have skills in identifying strategies and plans for future care, maximizing individual's strengths and minimizing the impact of their needs on their daily lives. You will need excellent communication skills and be calm, confident and resilient in your approach. You will need to be able to form therapeutic relationships with people with mental health needs and their families/carers. You will be joining a team of highly skilled and committed individuals and will become a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team.
