This is an elective surgical ward which is a busy fast paced area with a large patient turnover on a daily basis. Various adult specialities are cared for on the ward including ophthalmology, ENT, Orthopaedic, Gynaecology, Breast, Urology, General surgery, vascular and more. CHCSW duties focus on all aspects included in the job description and are very patient focussed. This revolves around ensuring patients are prepared and ready for their elective surgery, transferred to theatre in a timely manner to ensure theatre lists run efficiently. Recording & monitoring of patient observations, taking samples such as blood & urine ( once trained). Ensuring patient needs are met such as hygiene, nutrition, mobility, toileting. Working closely with the registrant workforce on the ward to ensure the department runs like a fine tuned engine. About us What should you do next?
