The postholder will work as a leader in the the ED Collaborative Research Group managing the embedded research delivery team which operates seven days a week screening and enrolling patients into studies in both adults and children. They will also develop and manage researcher-led studies with the wider ED academic team. Further information, including our yearly objectives can be found on the St George's website. To work in conjunction with other team leaders in executing and implementing project activities according to the study design and protocol. Identify suitable patients for entry into studies by screening patients attending the Emergency Department. Ensure patients are fully informed prior to entry into any clinical study, acting as a guide and advocate to the patient throughout the complex decision-making process. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Research Group Lead, Principal Investigators and research team, along with the wider multidisciplinary clinical team, to develop investigator led studies including, developing protocols, grant writing, ethics applications, study delivery and subsequent write-up for publication. They will alsomanage and support the research staff within the team and support a mixed portfolio of studies and ensure capacity and capability to safely deliver research. Act as a role model for excellence in research. To assist with the design and conduct of multi-centre clinical research including protocol development and completion of documents for study approval process. To lead the production of high-quality reports and/or publications as required by the funding body or for dissemination to the wider academic community.
