We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Rheumatology Specialist Nurse to deliver expert care for patients with rheumatology conditions across our Trust. The post is aimed at further developing nurse led care and provision of services for patients seen in the rheumatology department at all 3 sites of Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust. We are looking for a nurse who enjoys working collaboratively as part of a small, friendly multi-disciplinary team with a focus on providing holistic, evidence based and cost effective care. Whilst previous rheumatology experience is desirable, we would welcome applications from experienced nurses who would like to develop their interest in caring for patients with auto-immune conditions and inflammatory arthritis. This is a full -time post, consideration will also be given to applicants who wish to work part time hours. The post involves the assessment, monitoring and treatment provision for patients with inflammatory diseases. This involves the care of patientswho require disease modifying anti-rheumatic medications, biologic therapies and care of patients with osteoporosis. The main duties of the post include medication counselling, assessment of disease in nurse led clinics, drug monitoring database, osteoporosis clinics as well as administering intravenous and subcutaneous medications. A requirement to undertake further study for patients receiving chemotherapy for non-malignant conditions as well as a non-medical prescribing course will be essential for developing within the post "}
