This is a new and exciting opportunity to join an enthusiastic and progressive Cardiology Department as a Consultant in Cardiology at Wirral University Teaching Hospital (NHS) Foundation Trust (WUTH). The post-holder would join a team of seven Consultant Cardiologists each with varying specialty interests. In addition there is a compliment of one Associate Specialist, one Senior Staff Grade, one Clinical Fellow and three Specialist Registrars (2 x ST3 and 1 50:50 NIHR Clinical Lecturer post). There has been an on-site invasive cardiology and permanent pacemaker implantation service for over 20 years. There is a well-developed non-invasive service including cardiac CT and 3-D complex echocardiography including stress echocardiography and 3-D TOE. Education is well-supported and research is strongly encouraged. There are regular MDT meetings with cardiac surgeons/interventional cardiologist and electrophysiologists from Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. About us The successful candidate would support the delivery of the (1 in 8) consultant of the week / on-call rota and would be encouraged to progress / develop their own sub-speciality interest.
