The unit caters for over 4200 births per annum and has been recently refurbished with a £10m investment. During the pandemic we have established community hubs in Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead and one within the hospital footprint. We may consider job-shares or a 'buddy-scheme' which is integrated with Labour Ward or Birth Centre. Experience of working in the community is not essential as full training and a bespoke orientation programme will be provided. Knowledge of locally spoken languages would be an advantage, but again is not essential. Ability to drive essential. We are looking for enthusiastic midwives to help develop our service in line with the National Maternity Review 'Better Births'. The successful candidate will join a Community Midwifery Team working closely with colleagues in a supportive, caring and learning environment. He or she will support students and liaise closely with other members of the wider team providing excellent evidence-based care to women from a diverse multicultural background. He or she will provide antenatal and postnatal care for women in the Community Hub, hospital or home settings, facilitating informed choice and being involved in the implementation of a personalised pathway. We promote homebirths and midwives who would like to give intrapartum care to their women are fully supported.
