To provide an evidenced based service for patients referred to the mental health dietetics service including developing and ensuring delivery of relevant training plans within the mental health dietetics team. This post will provide leadership in the operational management of the team and be responsible for the clinical delivery of dietetics across the mental health inpatient wards in Derbyshire. About us: We receive a range of referrals for people who are receiving assessment and treatment of their mental health and require support with their nutrition, including nutrition support, disordered eating, weight management, diabetes and supporting service users with increased cardiovascular risk. The successful applicant will join a small and friendly team of dietitians working in the inpatient mental health dietetics service and be part of a wider group of senior dietitians working in services across the trust including community adult and CAMHS eating disorders services and forensic mental health services for professional support. The post will be based at the Kingsway Hospital in Derby; however, ability to travel to various locations across Derbyshire is required. The service also covers inpatient mental health wards in North Derbyshire and the post could be part based in Chesterfield on request. Operational leadership and management inpatient dietetic service including service development/provision, leading team meetings, managing staffing and non-staffing related budgets, recruitment, training, staff sickness/absence, service deployment across sites, service risk assessment, meeting service operational KPI/targets, provide management and clinical supervision Provide highly specialist knowledge, skills and advice to service users Be a source of expertise for staff and other professionals as part of the wider inpatient multi-disciplinary teams Use evidence-based, person- centred principles to provide highly specialised assessment, diagnosis, planning, evaluation and co-ordination of dietetic interventions Carry a defined clinical caseload (based on demand) and support other dietitians within the team Be responsible for the development and delivery of nutritional training to other health care professionals.
