An intercollegiate exam in Otolaryngology or equivalent is essential. Some undergraduate and post-graduate teaching and participation in audit is required. Candidates should have appropriate clinical and operative experience. The Clinical Fellow will be working in the otology and auditory implant team. Operative experience will include advanced otology (both adult and paediatric) and auditory implant surgery including bone anchored, middle ear and cochlea implants. We have an active research programme within the Auditory Implant Centre and participation will be strongly encouraged. This post is based at Guy's, St Thomas' and the Evelina Children's Hospitals. You will provide non-resident on-call cover for the ENT department on a one in thirteen basis with internal cover. Overall purpose of the post: * To assist in the provision of high quality ENT services to Trust patients, with specific emphasis on otology ENT services, including the development of the service.* To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high quality of patient care and to contribute to service developments.* To take part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.* To participate in research activities with the Department.* To help maintain the data collection of patients. About us The post is for tenure of one year. The appointment is primarily based at St Thomas Hospital, including The Evelina Childrens Hospital. All adult surgery takes place at Guys Hospital. On-call duties will also include some off-site emergency activity at Kings College Hospital. The position is full-time and will include on-call commitments at an experienced SpR level. It offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in Auditory Implant Surgery as well as advanced otology. In addition, the fellow will be strongly encouraged and supported to undertake clinical research within the Auditory Implant Centre. Some undergraduate and post-graduate teaching and participation in audit is required. Candidates should have appropriate clinical and operative experience. UK candidates must have completed their Specialist training program prior to the commencement of this post. All candidates should be on the GMC register and have MRCS Part 2 or equivalent. Publications demonstrating both an interest in the field and an ability to complete and write up research. Excellent communication skills as evidence by application form and interview.
