We are seeking an OT Team Lead to manage and support staff at our Slough based Inpatient Unit. On occasion you may need to provide leadership cover across our Maidenhead Inpatient Unit. Both our units are community physical health wards which is a key stepping stone for adult patients transitioning back into the community following surgery or acute medical care. This is a unique opportunity for an OT with extensive experience in physical health needs to team lead in a hospital-based environment. In this hands-on role you'll have your own caseload, however your main focus will be supervising a team of OTs handling complex cases. You'll enjoy being a part of the professional development of junior colleagues. Working closely with the Physiotherapy Lead and Inpatient Service Manager in the wider Therapy Team, you'll help positively shape patient care and service improvements. Working Pattern and Service Operating Hours Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8-4, with flexible working arrangements considered. As clinical expert in your specialist area, you'll lead the Occupational Therapy contribution to the multidisciplinary team (MDT) on inpatient wards. Plan and deliver Occupational Therapy for patients with wide ranging complex physical conditions and diverse presentations, taking lead responsibility for their care. Autonomously manage a caseload of patients with highly complex needs, conducting assessments and developing patient-centred care plans. Work as part of the MDT, including case conferences and discharge planning, ensuring patient information is managed professionally in line with confidentiality and data protection standards. Supervise and support Band 6 and Band 5 Occupational Therapists, OT assistants, and multi-therapy assistants, ensuring ongoing supervision, appraisals, and training to maintain high-quality service. Provide professional training and support to the MDT in your specialist area. Lead the implementation of changes in clinical practice, including planning, developing, and evaluating services, and managing projects such as audits and research. Foster key relationships with various healthcare teams, including acute care, secondary care, primary care and GPs, intermediate care teams & social services, clinical governance & patient safety managers community matrons, case managers and district nurses.
