Once qualified as a therapeutic radiographer you will be part of a multidisciplinary team treating patients with cancer using radiation. The apprenticeship will start in March 2025 and will run over 3 years comprising of: - On the job training based within the radiotherapy department housed in the Oncology Centre at Worcestershire Royal Hospital Off the job training - following an integrated timetable with Sheffield Hallam University. Completion of a BSc (Hons) degree in Therapeutic Radiography, approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) The post is full time - 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (this includes study time). The apprentice will be based as an employee within Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS trust as an apprentice radiographer under the Therapeutic Radiographer Apprenticeship Programme, committing themselves to train as a radiographer meeting the clinical and academic requirements of the course. The apprentice will develop and maintain knowledge, skills and competencies related to the role within the service and through completion of the degree apprenticeship programme which includes working in a variety of clinical placements and delivery of person centred care. The apprentice will work towards attainment of a Level 6 BSC (Hons) degree qualification through a Level 6 apprenticeship. The apprentice will work alongside the multidisciplinary team within the radiotherapy department whilst they train to be a therapeutic radiographer under the direct supervision of a registered practitioner. The post holder will be required to work shifts as required by the department (from 07:15 until 20:00). The successful applicant must be prepared to undertake any formal or informal study and training required to fulfil the needs of the post. There will be a minimum of 20% protected study time (equivalent to 1 day per week). Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship the post holder will gain a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Radiography and will be eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Therapeutic Radiographer. About us Key Duties: General / Clinical: Assist in the daily workload of the department, liaising with portering service, administration staff and other members of the MDT to facilitate the co-ordination of patient appointments.
