To undertake AP cut up of fresh and fixed bone and soft tissue surgical specimens as part of the department's rota in conjunction with the deputy laboratory manager. To be responsible for and undertake appropriate training and competency for AP dissection as laid out in the IBMS/RCPath portfolio of excellence and complete within two years of taking the post. To deliver a range of scientific work demanding skilled performance working with some autonomy but within the overall responsibility of the head of department. To oversee, coordinate and manage the daily workload in the laboratory. To supervise and coordinate activities of the BMS staff and junior lab staff. Provide training of BMS/lab staff in laboratory techniques and processes.
