You will be a Registered Science Technician with the Science Council or GPhC Registered Pharmacy Technician. If you do not currently possess the required qualification and registration status, you must be willing to undertake the Science Manufacturing Technician (SMT) course to gain these, in order to fulfil all elements of the job role. The SMT course runs over a 2 year period where tutoring sessions will be delivered online by subject matter experts weekly, accompanied by study time to complete relevant coursework and assignments. NB. The post holder must be in possession of Level 3 relevant Pharmaceutical Sciences of equivalent qualification and be a registered GPhC or RSciTech Technician to work as a Band 4. If the post holder is working towards this or needs to undertake this qualification and registration the post holder will be paid a spot salary of £26,110 per annum until relevant qualification and registration is gained. This interesting and varied role will require you to process and manufacture a wide range of sterile medicines including chemotherapy and investigational medicinal products for clinical trial patients. The work will be varied and challenging, working to tight deadlines to achieve targets and respond to patient and customer needs. You should be able work under pressure, prioritise and organise workloads and be able to work alone or as part of a bigger team. We are looking for confident self-motivated individuals with excellent IT, communication, problem solving and decision making skills. You will need to be able to work unsupervised in all aspects of pharmaceutical manufacturing, including: specialist aseptic dispensing, preparation of investigational medicinal products for clinical trial patients and work in specialised cleanroom environments using specialist equipment.
