The post holder will be responsible primarily for service users aged 18 - 65 year olds but may exceptionally be required to provide advice or act as consultant outside these age ranges. The post holder will be the consultant responsible for no more than 25 community patients countywide and Responsible Clinician for 3-6 low secure in-patients. Other duties will include tracking out-of-area patients predominantly in other secure facilities likely to return to Northamptonshire in-patient and/or Community Forensic Services. Patients who require higher levels of security including admission to a medium or specialist low secure bed will be admitted to the appropriate facilities which will be outside the county. The post holder will play a lead role in liaising with these services as well as undertaking gate-keeping assessments for local and regional commissioners of secure care. About us This is one of three Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist posts serving Northamptonshire. The principle duties will be with the Community Forensic Team and Low Secure Unit. The post holder will be responsible for his/her community forensic patients when admitted to the general psychiatric wards and PICU.
