We are looking to recruit Band 5 nurses that are either NMC registered or student nurses that are due to complete their studies in the next 6 months. Both adult nurses, children's nurses, neonatal nurses, are welcome to apply. Successful applicants will be part of a team who are passionate and enthusiastic about providing excellent care for the most sick and vulnerable babies and their families We offer a professionally registered six month foundation course to enhance your CPD, along with a dedicated neonatal practice development team to support your learning. The Neonatal Service delivers critical care across two sites, the City and Queen's Medical Centre Campus. As lead centre in the EMNODN [East Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network, we offer both medical and surgical intensive care for extremely premature and very sick infants. We also have an integrated outreach team in place to support babies and families once they return home. Please note this advert is for Neonatal Nursing only. To assess the care needs of patients and develop a programme of care which is evaluated and amended as appropriate. Carry out relevant forms of direct and indirect patient care without direct supervision. On occasions, may take charge of the clinical area in the absence of the person who has continuing responsibility or his/her deputy. The post holder is required to be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. About us KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care ensuring that these are evaluated and amended as appropriate. Document the condition and progress of patients and report to medical staff and/or senior nursing staff any areas of concern. Undertake nursing procedures and techniques in accordance with agreed policies and guidelines. Demonstrate clinical procedures to registered and unregistered staff as required. Once competent in team management skills, on occasions may take charge of the clinical area in the absence of the person who has continuing responsibility or his/her deputy. Participate in the support and implementation of Essence of Care guidelines. Be aware of your role with regard to the Medicines Code of Practice. Comply with all Trust policies with particular regard to the policies and procedures carried out in the event of maintaining staff and patient safety. Liaise with other clinical areas providing appropriate policies, education and clinical expertise in order to facilitate the management of patients with special requirements.
