The laboratory has strong links with the University of Exeter Medical School, providing a comprehensive Research and Development analytical service, both supporting trials and translating diagnostic research into clinical practice. The laboratory is at the forefront of some of the most exciting new research, particularly in the areas of diabetes and gastroenterology autoimmunity. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our team of dedicated professionals in the Blood Sciences Department of one of the leading Healthcare Foundation Trusts. The Department is composed of the following sections: Clinical Chemistry (Main system: Cobas 8000). Haematology (Main system: Sysmex). Immunology (Main system: Phadia). Blood Transfusion sections (Main system: Biorad). There are current vacancies in both the Clinical Chemistry department, and in the combined sections of Haematology, Immunology, and Blood Transfusion (HIT). Candidates should ideally be HCPC registered as a Biomedical Scientist. Applications will be considered from candidates who need to complete their registration portfolio / top up modules, remuneration for this will be at Annex U of band 5 for the training period. The successful applicant will possess good keyboard skills, an excellent telephone manner and should be highly literate and numerate. Excellent communications skills are essential for this post. Following suitable training they will be required to partake in the 24/7 shift service.
