The post will be based in Newcastle but travel across the northern region for clinic, training and teaching purpose will be expected. Therefore, a driving licence is a requirement of the post. Under the supervision of a Band 7 Nurse the post holder will be supported in planning, delivering and evaluating specialist care for children with complex neurological conditions. The successful candidate will be expected to provide advice and support to the GNCH, schools, respite centres and other care providers as well as participating in the development of care pathways and protocols. The post holder will be required to lead on a specific specialty covered within the service and will be fully supported and trained to do so. It is essential that the post holder be flexible to the needs of the service and prioritise patient care and safety to achieve the highest standards of care.
