The post holder will support the Cardiology & Respiratory Management Team in the delivery of 18 week waiting times, Cancer and Diagnostic targets. The post holder will work in close partnership with multidisciplinary teams to drive improvement, embed change and standardise practice, based on local requirements, national guidelines and clinical best practice. The role will also supervise and support the validating team and the Cardiac Investigations Booking Team Leader. With a focus on providing a quality service to patients, this role will focus on RTT and performance of the service lines. This key post, will manage and implement administrative systems to achieve local GHNHSFT and National waiting time targets by:- - RTT, performance and waiting list management, communication with patients, consultants, secretaries, relatives, general practitioners and other hospital staff, essential to help ensure a proficient service for patients and clinicians. - Ensuring safe and timely booking/admission for diagnostic and planned procedures, and appointments as part of the recovery plans. - Leading on RTT training of new starters. Ensuring any on-going training needs are addressed. - Improving efficiency and developing and implementing best practises. - Fully utilising capacity to deliver activity in an efficient and effective manner - Provide regular waiting list information to the GM/DGM for Cardiology & Respiratory. - Understanding demands on capacity needs within the service lines and escalating issues to GM/DGM. - Ensuring there is adequate cover for the administration team during periods of absence, including but not limited to, sickness and/or annual leave. - Performance management of staff to ensure a high standard of work for the benefits of patients, consultants and management. - Liaising closely with the DGM/GM, with regards to clinic and appointment capacity. - Data collection to facilitate auditing and reporting of service, as required by General Management team. About us Whilst the organisation and structure within specialities/divisions may vary the specific remit of this role will include: - To support the General Management Team to achieve an 18-week maximum wait, Cancer and Diagnostic targets - To provide day to day management of Team Leaders - To ensure that appropriate management systems are in place to provide accurate validated data quality. - Providing advice, support and leadership for daily issues within managed areas - To support the General Management Team in the development of business cases by providing accurate and timely performance reports - To assist the General Management Team in regards to recruitment of clerical staff - To assist in achieving and maintaining the delivery of national and local access targets relating to inpatient, day case and outpatient waiting times - To analyse complex and conflicting data from multiple sources - To support with Demand and Capacity planning - To support the General Management Team to redesign, develop and implement new processes within the Trust to improve patient pathways, access and quality of care - To use verbal and non-verbal communication skills to communicate service-related information and proposals to a wide range of personnel. This will involve issues which may be contentious and conflict with expectations of senior medical staff and require sensitivity.
