We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motived Dietitian to join our team. This role will be an integral part of clinical MDT's and provide an excellent potential opportunity for developing extended skills in gastric band adjustments. Some experience in bariatric surgical care and/or medical weight management services is useful but not essential, we can provide supervised training for individuals with a strong work ethic and outstanding interpersonal and team skills. This post offers excellent opportunities for professional and personal development. The department is committed to CPD and we offer a wide range of in-house specialist training. You will be involved in regular Dietetic professional update meetings with a CPD aspect e.g. professional updates and our twice-yearly Dorset Dietitians education and networking opportunity. The department is actively involved in student training and you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical supervisory skills. There are also opportunities to experience other services in the wider dietetic department such as diabetes, oncology, nutrition support and parenteral nutrition management to name but a few. This role is autonomous and a genuine interest in surgical obesity and a commitment to providing high standards of care for patients is essential as well as excellent communication skills with the ability to work to a high standard both independently and as part of a team. We would be very happy to have a conversation about specific areas of interest in the speciality as well how your skill set fits with our service and your development needs. This is an exciting role that will require a variety of skills including independent pre and post-operative assessment, face to face and virtual support to patients, data collection and analysis to ensure patient outcomes are captured. You will be expected to demonstrate self-motivation, prioritisation and clinical skills within this busy caseload. You will work closely with the surgical team, clinical lead Dietitian and therapy assistant to provide nutritional advice and support behaviour change with patients on the surgical obesity pathway. The job will include close working with the wider multi-disciplinary team at ward level.
