More detail about the role As an Associate Finance Officer, you will be part of a team working under the Finance Directorate, supporting the Clinical Specialist Services Care Group in various accounting and financial tasks. Working with the CSS Business Partnering team, your key responsibilities will include: Providing ongoing financial support to budget holders, monitoring and analysing their expense and income against budgets. Working closely with budget holders to monitor their staffing whole time equivalents (WTEs) against budgeted establishment. Producing detailed monthly budget statements, summaries and variance reports. Ensuring that all necessary accruals/prepayments are calculated and posted to the finance ledger. Investigation and analysis of monthly variances between budgeted and actual income and expenditure. Working closely with the CSS Business Partnering team to ensure all financial risks are appropriately identified and reported to the Finance Business Partner. Your role will also involve attending relevant Business Partnering Committees and Sub Committees, which include working collaboratively to improve processes and share knowledge and best practice. As a qualified Accounting Technician or with equivalent experience, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication and analytical skills, and be adept at handling multiple responsibilities and deadlines. Location: You will be based at either Newcourt House in Exeter or Devonshire House in Barnstaple (whichever you prefer) but may be required to travel between sites as needed. We work in a hybrid office environment with a minimum of two days in the office.
