Rotations include; Discharge Assessment Unit, Medicine wards, D2A/Rehabilitation, Macmillan and T+O. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of patients who will present with many complex needs throughout their acute hospital stay.Within the Team you will work alongside an existing integrated multi-disciplinary team, using a fusion-skilled hybrid approach, focusing on high quality care, promoting comprehensive assessments, and supporting hospital teams in appropriate admission avoidances over a seven-day service. A willingness to work flexibly and to undertake tasks traditionally allocated to specific disciplines are all requirements of the role. As a Band 6 therapist you will be supporting and developing rotational Band 5 therapists. The role also involves supervising therapy support staff and educating therapy students on placement.There will be opportunities for innovation and an expectation that you will be actively involved in relevant quality improvement projects. Our friendly Service offers support through regular supervision, appraisal, training and development opportunities. A rotational post providing skilled assessment, treatment and interventions for patients with a range of complex and or chronic conditions, providing advanced Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment and providing specialist advice and support to other professionals throughout the Trust. The Occupational Therapist will provide specialist skills which enable patients to explore, achieve and maximise independence and maintain quality of life in their activities of daily living, areas of personal care, domestic, leisure and productive activities. You will be part of a seven day service working flexibly across all sites to provide Occupational Therapy services to our patients. The Occupational Therapist will hold a full clean driving licence to travel between sites and complete environmental/home visits as required. This post will work across our hospital sites in Burton, Lichfield and Tamworth and will offer exciting rotational opportunities to support with development of core Occupational Therapy skills and career progression. These rotations will include Acute Medicine, DAU, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Macmillan and Acute Inpatient Rehab within the Community Hospitals.
