The post is based across Bradford Royal Infirmary and St Luke's hospital and there will be a rotation of duties within the site across all the specialties. The successful applicants will work with our friendly team of Radiographers, Sonographers, Radiologists, and other support staff, in our busy and dynamic department, to fulfil the commitment to provide a high quality service to patients undergoing diagnostic procedures. They will oversee and coordinate the outpatient waiting areas; assist with preparing patients for their CT, MR or ultrasound scans and care for them during and after their examinations. There will be a need to cannulate some of these patients and/or take blood samples for testing. A flexible approach and a strong work ethic in this busy environment is required to meet the needs of the service. As a Radiographic Assistant your main role would be to provide care to patients attending for diagnostic imaging tests across a wide range of modalities including CT, MRI and Ultrasound. You will support staff while they are performing the scans and support/ chaperone the patients throughout their appointment journey. Assist consultant radiologists with fluoroscopic guided procedures and maintain the patient flow within the department. You will contribute as part of the imaging team to the diagnostic imaging process, maintaining high standards of care, competence, professional manner, punctuality and appearance. Maintain and take part in departmental stock control. Perform cannulation and venepuncture. The job description will be reviewed periodically as part of the performance appraisal system and may be subject to change with the agreement of the post holder and Superintendent Radiographer. Summary of most important Experience/Skills/Qualifications required: Previous experience in clinical healthcare setting such as a care home, community or hospital setting. NVQ/QCF Diploma or Apprenticeship at Level 2 or equivalent in Care is essential as is previous experience of working as a carer in a care home, community care or hospital setting. Good verbal and written command of English, Maths and I.T. skills are a requirement. Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail are essential.
