This role reports to the Deputy Head of Safety, but there is a requirement to frequently liaise with Facilities, Front of House and Estates teams to develop and coordinate the fire safe arrangements for the Trust across our owned and occupied buildings. You will be able to provide specialist advice and guidance to all levels of staff, assisting the Trust to achieve and maintain compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Health Technical Memorandum 05 (Firecode). You will be able to work autonomously, possess good organisation and communication skills (verbal, written and presenting). You will also be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and be able to use the Assure software for recording and tracking fire risk assessments and associated findings. Based at White Rose Park, but with travel across Leeds and potentially some further reaching geographical areas where staff are based, a full driving licence and access to a car are essential. Responsibilities include: Developing, monitoring and reviewing the Fire Safety Policy and associated procedures, guidance, briefing notes and bulletins. Regularly undertaking and producing suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments, identifying non-conformances and agreeing corrective actions. Developing, reviewing and ensuring the implementation of suitable fire evacuation plans for all staff, patients and visitors. The implementation of an effective fire safety training programme. Extracting and manipulating data from our incident reporting software. Writing compliance and performance reports. Undertaking technical analysis. Conducting fire related incident investigations. Working with Estates to develop and implement short and long-term strategic plans for fire safety risk management.
