The paediatric clinical pharmacy team is well respected and an integral part of the inpatient multidisciplinary child health service. The neonatal ward comprises a 20 bedded level 2 unit and two paediatric wards provide oncology and haematology services, with surgical and medical admissions. Both units work closely with the tertiary neonatal and paediatric services based in Bristol and Plymouth for the South West. Children's outpatient services provide a range of specialties including oncology, haematology, neurology, cardiology, endocrinology, respiratory and metabolic disease management. The Royal Cornwall hospital pharmacy department is a forward thinking and friendly team with full deployment of electronic prescribing and administration in the inpatient and outpatient setting and fully automated dispensing. A new pharmacy department is part of a multimillion investment which includes a new Women's and Children's hospital. This role can be started as a Band 6 and moved to Band 7 once objectives have been met. Providing regular input to the paediatric cystic fibrosis MDT. Ensuring that medication reconciliation, optimisation and transfer of care are completed for inpatients. Advising on the use and administration of medication in this care group and provide expert advice to W & C.
