The role is supervisory in nature and applications are welcomed from candidates with managerial experience. The national Bowel Cancer Screening programme has 5 Hubs and the Midlands and North West Hub is located at Rugby St Cross Hospital. The Hub is a very busy Department with three distinct work areas - helpline; packing room and laboratory. The Senior Screening Administrators will work in all three areas of the Department and be involved in facilitating the smooth running of the work being carried out there. We are seeking to appoint staff with a proactive and dynamic approach who work well independently and as part of a team. The work will be varied and provide the right candidate with a suitable level of challenge and interest. A highly organised and efficient worker will find the role rewarding and engaging. About us To provide comprehensive administrative and laboratory support to the Bowel Cancer Screening Hub. The post holder will work across all three areas of the Hub Helpline, Packing Room and Laboratory. The role will involve supervision of Screening Administrators and their delivery of work against set objectives and targets. Senior Screening Administrators will deputise for the Team Leader if required. Organise the daily workflow of the printing and packing function of the Hub. Manage the production and packing of bulk batches of subject (patient) mail such as screening Invitations, overseeing the operating of letter insert/pack machinery and accountable for the completion of checks and sign off that all items are packed correctly. Complete initial fault investigation and system recovery eg paper jams, change printer toner. Complete the daily invitation generation process. Print, pack, and check appointment letters. Answer the subject (patient) Helpline in a professional manner, offering advice and guidance on all aspects of the screening programme in line with Departmental and National policy. Deal with routine and complex enquiries with minimal support, using tact and sensitivity to deal with difficult issues as required. Maintain both manual and electronic filing systems and databases, as required by the Department and Trust policies, ensuring all documents are accurately and appropriately stored and archived. Respond to email enquiries to the Hub referring any complex matters to the Team Leader. Utilise IT systems ensuring data is input accurately.
