Are you the person we are looking for to be a part of the multidisciplinary team caring for such patients? We are looking for someone with recent experience of working as an nursing assistant or phlebotomist at band 3. We will also consider those with substantial relevant experience at band 2 as a nursing assistant or phlebotomist. You must have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. You will contribute to ensuring the out-patient or day case journey though the department is safe and effective. Caring for patients in an outpatient and day case setting. You will be required to take venous and peripheral capillary samples (for Point-Of-Care testing) for which training will be provided. You will record patients vital signs, provide basic nursing care and ensure the department is stocked with clinical supplies. The post holder will support the anticoagulation and haemophilia nursing teams in the smooth running of clinics, working under the direct supervision of registered specialist nurses. About us Hours will be: 8am to 4pm on Mon, Wed, and Fri; 9am - 5pm on Tuesday and Thursday As a member of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will contribute to the delivery of patients individual care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. The Senior Nursing Assistant demonstrates a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific tasks delegated by the nurse in charge and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies. S/he will undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent. The post-holder will be based in the Haemophilia & Thrombosis Centre and will also be required to attend patients in the main outpatient department, mainly to provide point of care blood testing and phlebotomy. The role involves assisting patients seen in the department, measuring vital signs, taking blood samples and other specimens as necessary Using their own initiative the post-holder will keep material resources of the department, well stocked and in good order and help to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene Assist with the induction of new band 3 Nursing Assistants under the supervision of a registered nurse.
