The UEC Matron position is pivotal to leading and influencing excellence in patient care and professional practice; covering ED, acute medicine and diabetes care. It is integral to delivery of the strategic vision for the Trust and how we shape and grow services that are responsive to the changing needs of the local population and wider health care environment. In collaboration with the Lead Nurse and wider Matron team the post holder will have delegated responsibility and accountability for quality governance, clinical standards, patient experience and effective service delivery across the UEC portfolio. Role modelling an effective quality and patient safety culture, ensuring that responsibilities are clear, with improvements that are sustained and widespread. About us Summary of Post The post holder will inform and support the delivery of the strategic direction and overall provision and management of Emergency Care within the acute setting, providing professional leadership to all nursing and AHP staff at all levels within their responsibility ensuring the delivery of consistently high standards of care. The post holder will collaborate with both clinical and non-clinical leads to support and deliver safe and effective care delivery which contributes to the achievement of the national and local quality and clinical performance indicators. The post holder will be a registered practitioner who will act as an expert credible leader for the delivery of a user-centred, evidence based Emergency Care aligned to national best practice. The post holder will be responsible for Ward 16 (Short Stay Medical Unit), EADU (Emergency Admissions and Discharge Unit), Ambulatory Unit, and the Diabetes Specialist Nurse team.
