JOB SUMMARY We are vibrant and energetic team with patient care at the forefront of everything we do. We have a brand new multi- million pound department with state of the art facilities including a dedicated Resus area, observation cubicles and treatment room where we see and treat a wide variety of children aged 0-16 with illness and injuries. We are seeking a Paediatric Emergency Department Sister with experience working in an acute setting to come and join our amazing team. You will be responsible for co-ordinating the department and supporting junior members of the team to deliver an excellent standard of care to our patients. The successful candidate must have up to date knowledge and evidence to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care, communicate findings, influence changes and promote health and best practice. The individual must make person centred, evidence-based judgements in partnership with others involved in the care process to ensure high quality care, Promote a clean and safe environment for staff, patients and visitors by ensuring compliance with legislation /policies and procedures, health care associated infection prevention, governance including risk management and incident reporting and act without delay in the reporting and escalating any areas of concern. The department provides 24-hour care through a variety of shift patterns. The individual will be expected to co-ordinate the department using excellent time management skills to ensure children are assessed within 15 minutes of arrival, clinical concerns escalated in a timely manner and work closely with the MDT to meet our four hour target. The individual will be confident to care for and support junior members of the team looking after children alerted in by ambulance and taken into the Resuscitation room to stabilise. You will use excellent communication skills to liaise with the ward staff for patients being admitted enabling flow through the department. To provide education and teaching to parents and staff when the opportunity arises supporting the education team. "}
