Based in Reading, located close to the amenities of the town centre and a leafy park, the ward works closely with patients and families to help them to identify their needs and participate actively in their care, providing a place of empathy, kindness, and compassion. We have created a culture where everyone has a voice and where service users and staff collaborate to make positive change. With excellent communication and people skills, you will reassure those in your care, discussing distressing and sensitive situations in a kind, calm and respectful manner. Helpful and approachable, you will deliver a seamless service and will be eager to assist with queries both face-to-face and over the phone. You will already have substantial experience of working as a support worker in a mental health care setting with the ability to supervise and coach junior staff. You have a passion for caring, a warm personality and the resilience to help us transform our patients' lives. With great communication and people skills, you will ensure that patient dignity is always maintained.Collaborating with our warm, friendly and enthusiastic team, you can play your part in helping us achieve our ambitions to become a 'Centre of Excellence'. About us The must haves for this role: Good general education qualifications, including English and Maths at GCSE grade C or equivalent. IT literate Previous experience working as a Band 2 support worker in a mental health acute care setting. Ability to work in a stressful environment.
