You will work alongside therapists, nurses and doctors to provide a holistic, personalised assessment for patients within the Elderly Care inpatient setting. The successful applicant will undertake evidence-based and holistic Occupational Therapy interventions enabling people to gain and/or maintain independence in activities important to them. The successful candidate will be supported by highly skilled and experienced therapists as well as have opportunities for formal professional development and supervision. The successful candidate must be flexible, innovative, highly motivated and above all be committed to improving the care and assessment of people within the Elderly Care. This post requires a good level of personal responsibility, a high level of motivation, and proactiveness. The post holder will be required to prioritise their own workload, use their initiative, and work on their own and as part of a team. The successful candidate will work alongside members of the Multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and will be well supported by an established Occupational Therapy service. Additionally, the post holder will be required to provide a high standard of Occupational Therapy based input to patients who are experiencing difficulties with their occupational performance. The candidate will independently manage a defined caseload with indirect supervision from a Therapist within the team. The expected caseload will include but is not limited to patients with varying degrees of frailty, those who have fallen or who are experiencing functional decline. The candidate will assess needs, agree goals, implement intervention plans, and evaluate progress for defined patients in accordance with Occupational Therapy guidelines, being accountable to an Occupational Therapist and Therapy Team Lead .
