The post is to be based at the Northern General Hospital. Proleptic appointments may be considered up to 2 years. This Fellowship programme is approved under the RCS England Senior Clinical Fellowship Scheme and accredited to ACPGBI and RCS England as the Sheffield Post-CCT Advanced Pelvic Floor Surgery Fellowship. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has either completed their specialist training or who has a CCT or equivalent in General Surgery within 18 months of the date of interview to undergo advanced training in pelvic floor surgery. The aim of this post is to provide further clinical experience and training to an individual who has a sub-speciality interest in colorectal surgery and to allow for exposure to clinical skills in this sub specialty. Colonoscopy sessions will be provided as will elective and emergency operating, outpatient clinic sessions, laparoscopic surgery sessions and work with the pelvic floor team. The fellowship will focus on advanced pelvic floor surgery. The Sheffield colorectal unit is a tertiary referral unit for advanced and revisional pelvic floor surgery. The unit has recently been accredited by the Pelvic Floor Society. There is collaborative working with the urogynaecology unit.
