Are you an enthusiastic, creative and compassionate clinical psychologist who would like to work with adults with learning disabilities and those who support them in the community? We are a busy, friendly multi-disciplinary team who provide high quality assessment, formulation and intervention to adults with learning disabilities who are experiencing significant challenges in relation to their mental health, physical health and behaviours that challenge. We work alongside our MDT colleagues and partnership agencies to support the psychological wellbeing of service users and their families/carers who live in Gateshead. We provide psychological consultation, specialist assessments and a range of both direct and indirectpsychological interventions. The post holder will have a leadership role in formulations, consultation, scaffolding, supervision and training to MDT colleagues. We regularly provide teaching and training in psychological ways of working and there will be opportunities to gain experience in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical work. You will also support the team in carrying out learning disability assessments. As a team we value clinicians who are creative, flexible, curious and genuine.
