The successful candidate will work alongside another senior Consultant, as part of the Kingston and Richmond Perinatal sub team, to develop further the Perinatal service in this Borough and liaise with West Middlesex Hospital maternity team. There is a well-established multidisciplinary team across the Trust, as well as the Kingston and Richmond sub team, working collaboratively with other mental health services, maternity units and the health visiting teams. There are existing networks within South West London, and we are part of the new South London Perinatal Provider Collaborative with OXLEAS and SLaM Mental Health Trusts. The Perinatal Team was accredited by the Perinatal Quality Standards Network, Royal College of Psychiatrist in 2023, and we have been recognised for having an excellent record in retention and recruitment, alongside good and positive feedback in the annual staff survey and the best in South West London Perinatal Provider Collaborative. In addition, there are several teaching and training opportunities within the organisation, as well as at St George's Medical School. This post is open to both experienced Consultants and as well as suitably experiencedhigher trainees . This role is an excellent opportunity for acting up as a Consultant at the end of the higher specialist training for any trainees who want to consider a career in Perinatal Psychiatry as the higher trainees will be supervised and will be supported. The post holder will be working alongside another senior Consultant who is the Clinical Lead for the Perinatal service in the same sub team. Our team is driven by delivering excellent clinical care, with several ongoing quality improvement projects and many service development opportunities, within our Trust, but also across the South London Perinatal Provider Collaborative.
