Please see Job Description and Person Specification attached to this vacancy for the full responsibilities of this role We are currently recruiting a forward thinking, reliable, enthusiastic established administration professional to join our busy administration team as a Medical Secretary based at Alfred Barrow Health Centre, aligned to the Specialist Network. As a vital team member you will provide excellent administration and communication skills and work flexibly in response to the service needs. You will provide a comprehensive secretarial, administration and information service to the specified Consultant(s) and the Multi Disciplinary Team. You will facilitate the organisation of the workload for the Consultant(s) and co-ordinate your activities with other medical Secretaries and administration colleagues, to ensure an efficient and confidential service is provided. You will also provide day to day support to the CAMHS team and administration colleagues. The Successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, be computer literate and be able to use a variety of systems including Microsoft Office. You must also have significant administration experience including minute taking and audio typing and possess excellent time management skills along with the ability to manage competing demands and priorities. This is a varied, demanding and busy role and would suit someone who is highly motivated and capable of working on their own initiative, with a minimum level of supervision. Working pattern (hours): Part time Hours / sessions per week: 29hrs/wk To support the Consultant's and their team in the typing of all clinic letters and correspondence, tribunal reports and references within designated time limits and a high standard of accuracy and presentation To arrange meetings, and take minutes of meetings for e.g. Consultant meetings, Post Incident Reviews, CPA meetings, Complex needs meetings and other meetings as requested To prepare papers for meetings and distribute as requested by the Consultant's and their team To take minutes for meetings attended by the Consultant and their team as requested To provide effective communication both within the Trust and between hospital, GPs, patients, Community Mental Health Team, patients and relatives regarding appointments, admissions and any other queries To arrange domiciliary visits at the request of the Consultant and provide supporting information and liaise with the client To communicate with the wards to organise admissions in accordance with the Consultant or team To be responsible for identifying each patient has a follow up appointment as part of their care package and continuity of care and booking these accordingly To type dictation using a transcription machine or from shorthand using ensuring accuracies particularly in relation to medical terms/diagnosis and medication for e.g. clinic letters, admission/discharge summaries, tribunal reports, rotas, references and general correspondence "}
