We are looking for a motivated and innovative Children's Nurse to join our Band 7 Ward Leads team. We are a 26 bed Children's unit comprising of dedicated 4 bed level 2 HDU. We have a 24/7 Children's Assessment that work closely with ED. We have a 7 bed 5 day a week surgical and medical day care service We have have a dedicated Children's outpatients and phlebotomy service. We also work closely with our Children's community nursing service. The successful candidate will requireat least 2 years experience at band 6 or above in related specialtyand be able to successfully lead the nursing team . You will be part of the Transition group which focus on the transition of CYP to adult services. The team currently meet monthly. Following the merger of the Poole and Bournemouth Trusts, University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) are facing an exciting time, with the planned move to a new children's unit on the Bournemouth Site approx November 2025 Base Location: Poole Hospital Interview Date: TBC The successful candidate will be able to Facilitates 'expert' inter-professional care for the sick babies/children/young people and their families by direction, supervision and example; and maintenance of all records. Acts as a clinical and managerial resource for Inpatient wards Integrated management of Inpatient wards to ensure cohesive stream lined service - with particular focus on the transition of CYP to adult services. Liaison and cooperates with CAU, ED, Critical care, theatre, surgeons, anaesthetists, & administrative teams to ensure full utilisation of services. Provides professional leadership including participation in standard setting and leading in the maintenance of care standards. Participates in the education, development, and motivation of all grades of staff. Co-ordinate a team to ensure the delivery of effective nursing care to patients and their families reflecting the UHD Approach.
