To participate in the collection, entering, collating and analysing of data for the Intensive Care National Audit Research Centre (ICNARC) and MedICUs data set. Provide administrative support to the ward based clinical staff. Contribute to the effective running of the ward by concentrating on tasks which directly support administration systems and procedures. Provide a reception service on the ward welcoming patients, visitors and staff and dealing with queries both internally and externally to the organisation. Ensure that the quality of data being managed and processed is of a high standard. Monitoring of accuracy of demographic and activity data on the hospital Patient Management System (PAS) Assist with the preparation of periodic returns to the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre (ICNARC). This includes correcting and validating all data returns, the continuation of data collection of patients being transferred or discharged from the Critical Care Unit and the presentation of said data Collect electronic and other information from ICIP (commonly known as CareVue), patient notes and verbal communication, to enable completion of an audit database Analyse Data Validation Reports from ICNARC, and update the database as appropriate Assist with research data collection Ensure the provision of information for regular audit and management reporting Contribute to the monitoring of measurable standard of care such as the quarterly direct care audit and the promotion of the friends and family questionnaire Assess and collect levels of care for the critical care minimal data set and the healthcare resource groups to support payment by results Take phone calls, maintaining confidentiality and referral to correct party Maintain and ensure the accuracy and completion of the hospital PAS information system.
