We work within the primary and secondary schools in Northamptonshire and deliver the healthy child programme alongside contributing to the Education Health care plan to ensure children and young people with additional healthcare needs can access their full educational curriculum. We work closely with our colleagues in the community, acute, social and education settings. We delivery competency based training programme to the Special School teams, working in partnership with schools to meet the needs of the children and young people. An exciting oppertunity has arisen for a Band 6 Secondment to the Special School Nursing Team. This is a Fixed Term contract and will run until 31/07/25. The post holder will be lone working in other settings and we want to recruit a forward thinking, dynamic nurse into this permanent position. The post holder will be part of a developing and progressing service working with colleagues who present with enthusiasm for innovative and high standards of practice and be able to work autonomously. As a registered nurse the post holder will be responsible for managing allocated school caseloads, develop care plans for individualized care, complete risk assessment of clinical needs, safeguard children and young people through local procedures in line with Northamptonshire Safeguarding Board, provide leadership and mentoring of others, lead on immunisation clinics, work in collaboration with other agencies. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring they maintain their registration through continued professional development, ensuring high standards of practice.
