Work under the supervision of a community nurse escalating any patient risks or deviation to the plan of care when required. To organise own phlebotomy workload in the most time effective way whilst meeting the priority time scale requested by the referrer. Undertake community phlebotomy within the priority timescale requested by the referrer and to patients who are unable to access a phlebotomy clinic, escalating any inappropriate referrals to the service. Obtain specimen samples as directed and ensure all specimens are transported to the laboratory or point of sample collection within Trust policy and procedures. Assist in the holistic care of patients by escalating any concerns with the patients wider physical, social, psychological care needs / activities of daily living.
