The team is welcoming and dedicated to delivering comprehensive assessments and care focusing on supporting the transition from an acute medical ward to home with the appropriate support in place. Our Inpatient Therapy service is lead by two Therapy Leads with the support of Band 7 Team Leaders who are highly experienced in their fields. There are regular Occupational therapy team meetings, a dedicated practice educator for the therapy department and CPD is actively encourage. It is essential that you have current HCPC registration and recognised qualifications as an Occupational Therapist Please note that we are not able to offer sponsorship for this role. Interview date: 08 November 2024 We offer training and clinical development opportunities with a comprehensive in-service training program and regular clinical supervision. We also provide additional support in order for staff to attend recognised courses within the area of the post to support staff development. The Therapy Team is also committed to supporting the development of leadership skills at Band 6 encouraging staff to attend relevant courses provided by the Trust. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to be flexible and thrive in a fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for day-to-day management of the service delivery and manage a complex caseload with support from their band 7 team lead. They will gain experience in supervising staff and become a practice placement educator. Together with the team leaders in our other in-patient specialities, you will support the Occupational Therapy Professional Lead and the Head of Therapies in the strategic and operational planning for the department. The post holder will be responsible for assessment, treatment planning and intervention for patients referred to their caseload. About us The post holder will be required to supervise junior staff, technicians, assistants and students as appropriate. They will be expected to participate in development and monitoring of service standards and to assist in the running of the day-to-day service. The post holder will take a holistic approach in the assessment and treatment of service users / patients, being responsible for the provision of appropriate, high-quality care to a defined caseload which may be of a complex nature, using the appropriate model of care and evidenced based practice. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to engage others, with a proactive approach to service development. You will also demonstrate a strong commitment to a person-centred approach in line with the Trust Values and Behaviours. Introduce the team, the atmosphere, the work ethic and the benefits.
