We are currently looking for a full-time Band 5 Moving and Handling Trainer for the delivery, teaching and evaluation of patient and inanimate Moving and Handling training. The post holder will also provide advisory services to managers and employees on Moving and Handling issues when requested. The post holder will be primarily based at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, and you will be a member of the wider Moving and Handling Ergonomics team supporting patient safety and staff health and well-being and as such will be expected to contribute to service provision across the whole of Barts Health Trust and to visit the other sites as required. The post holder will need at least a minimum of 6 months post qualification experience of working in a moving and handling environment providing teaching experience and formulating and delivering moving & Handling training courses within Health or Social Care Sector. This post is offered as a permanent contract. Their main duties will be in the delivery of evidence-based Moving and Handling training programmes for clinical staff. They will be classroom-based based majority of the time with some office desk work and assisting with Risk Assessments. We are looking for a post holder who will need to be able to demonstrate that they have excellent written and verbal communication skills and good IT skills. The ability to work as an individual as well as part of a team is essential. They will be physically capable of demonstrating a variety of patient-handling equipment and support safe moving and handling practices. About us To assist in devising and delivering evidence-based learning programmes in Moving and Handling. To evaluate the effectiveness of training courses in conjunction with the senior Moving and Handling lead. Physically capable of demonstrating good practice. Promote client independence, minimal lifting, use of equipment and ergonomic changes to minimise risk to staff. Visit clinical and non-clinical areas to assist in identifying training needs and deliver specifically tailored training where appropriate. Assist in monitoring the use of all current lifting aids/equipment and assist in maintaining an up-to-date equipment inventory.
