The CNS will have key working relationships with all the professionals and services identified above, both at primary and secondary care setting. To attend weekly MDT meetings and action any work that needs to be actioned from this. To run own clinics and ensure dictate letters are completed in a timely fashion. There will also be an element of teaching ward stuff about ADHD and how best to support patients. To run parenting support groups. To provide professional and clinical leadership and expertise in the specialty ADHD and to act as a resource for education and clinical expertise in hospital and community settings. To liaise effectively with members of the multi-professional healthcare team to achieve a co ordinated specialist service. To be operationally conversant with both current clinical protocols and research protocols and relevant investigations and procedures employed in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD. To provide an individual service and psychological support to patients and carers respecting their diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds . To be competent in the management of assessment referrals and analysis of assessment data. To undertake nurse-led clinics for the assessment of new referrals and ongoing review of children with ADHD.This includes monitoring emotional well-being and functioning of children and their families, monitoring BP, growth and altering medication as required, working within agreed protocols.
