We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Therapy Technical Instructor - Orthopaedics and Surgical wards. You will be expected to assist the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in delivering a high quality service for patients on the Surgical and orthopaedic wards in the hospital. This may involve: Teaching patients exercise programmes Helping patients to walk and move Working with patients to achieve as much independence as possible with washing/dressing/toileting tasks and with making hot drinks and meal preparation Assisting the therapist during treatment sessions Issuing mobility and functional equipment Administrative tasks Y ou should have previous experience in an acute care setting. To undertake specific skilled support work to aid the rehabilitation of patients as delegated by the Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist To accept patients referred by the Multi-disciplinary Team and relay all necessary information to the therapists to allow timely interventions. To accept patients referred by a qualified Therapist, treat them according to set treatment protocols, monitor progression and make alterations, within agreed parameters. Work is not always directly supervised but is evaluated and monitored daily. Access to qualified staff is always available if required. Patients progress to be reported back on a timely basis. To assist in the administration and clerical duties of the team. To develop and maintain competencies through Continuing Professional Development (CPD). "}
