The postholder will: Work with colleagues to provide a consultant-led service with the highest standards of care Work with the multi-professional team to develop care pathways and clinical guidelines Develop and maintain good working practices within wards, outpatients and A&E Collaborate and promote close working links with colleagues in tertiary centres, community services and primary care Offer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues, nursing colleagues and other members of the multi-disciplinary team An opportunity has arisen to join our team at Ipswich in our Medicine DivisionWe are inviting applications for a 12 month fixed term Locum Consultant Cardiologist Applicants will have completed CCT or equivalent (CESR) and must be on the Specialist Register. The Ipswich Cardiology department is established, busy and expanding. It provides a range of inpatient and outpatient cardiology services including, but not limited to, coronary angiograpy, PCI, pacing, complex echo, cardiac MRI. There are current plans to expand the PCI service and to develop a coronary CT service. There are currently 15 cardiology consultants across the two sites with 8 based at Ipswich. A range of subspeciality interests are supported. Catheter Laboratories There are two catheter laboratories on the Ipswich site and one shared facility on the Colchester site. Clinics General outpatient clinics are offered as well as sub-specialty clinics. The consultants are supported by a team of registrars, resident doctors, specialist nurses, cardiac physiologists and radiographers..
