We are a registered training practice and are actively involved in research. BMC is housed in modern, purpose-built premises, caring for a diverse patient population of over 45,000 patients across 4 sites. We have a very experienced and highly skilled clinical team of Doctors, ACPs, Practice Nurses, Paramedics, HCAs, Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and GPAs. Boroughbury Medical Centre is a modern day GP practice situated in the heart of the City of Peterborough with further bases in Paston and Werrington. The BMC Paston group are a large, forward-thinking and innovative network with a passion for multidisciplinary team-working, we are a registered training practice with an active research portfolio. We are currently located across 4 premises, caring for a richly diverse patient community. Now is a really exciting time to join General Practice and we are seeking an additional GPA on a 2 year, fixed-term contract to join our existing team of GPAs undertaking phlebotomy, blood pressures, ECGs, urinalysis, health checks as well as administrative duties including coding and filing of letters. Boroughbury Medical Centre has a well-established team of GPAs and currently has a vacancy for an additional full-time GPA on a fixed-term 2 year contract. GPAs have both a clinical and an administrative role within the surgery, undertaking clinics for blood tests, ECGs, blood pressures, urinalysis and health checks. In addition, they have administrative functions including coding and filing of letters. The GP Assistant role was initially developed in the United States, to safely deliver a combination of routine administrative tasks and some basic clinical duties in the general practice setting.The focus being on supporting General Practitioners in their day-to-day management of patients, specifically aimed at reducing the administrative burden, making best use of consultation time and supporting those particularly vulnerable to isolation who are regular attenders at the practice.
