What to expect
First, we'll enable your camera & microphone and then ask you to record a short introduction about yourself, about 30 seconds long, to make sure your camera is working ok.

Then, we'll ask you to answer one or more questions of your choice from the list below:
1. Can you tell us a little about yourself and why you are interested in becoming a phlebotomist?
2. What do you understand about the role of a phlebotomist in a hospital setting?
3. How would you approach a patient who is anxious or fearful about having their blood taken?
4. Can you describe a time when you effectively communicated with someone who had different needs or challenges?
5. While no prior phlebotomy experience is required, what skills do you possess that will help you learn venepuncture quickly and effectively?
6. Can you discuss your experience with IT systems or databases, and how you ensure accuracy when entering data?
7. How do you ensure adherence to established protocols and trust policies in a clinical environment?
8. What steps would you take to handle a situation where you identified a discrepancy in sample labelling or patient identification?
9. Phlebotomy roles often require teamwork. Can you give an example of how you have worked as part of a team in a previous role?
10. Given that you will need to work various shift patterns, including weekends and bank holidays, how do you plan to manage your availability?
11. How do you maintain a professional image while interacting with patients and other healthcare professionals?
12. What do you believe is the importance of continuous learning and adaptation in the field of phlebotomy?
13. Imagine you are in a busy ward and a patient requires urgent venepuncture, but you are also responsible for another patient who is feeling unwell. How would you prioritise your tasks?
14. If you encountered a situation where a patient was not properly identified, what steps would you take to rectify the situation before proceeding?
15. What do you believe are the key qualities that a successful phlebotomist must possess?
