They will have responsibility for resource management and planning (rostering of resources), fleet and estates management, and financial management within their group of stations. The Group Manager will plan the deployment of resources but handover the responsibility for management of those resources on the day to the relevant Duty Officer. The Group Manager will have a focus on staff welfare support and management and implementation of health and wellbeing measures. They will manage and oversee absence management procedures, working with Senior Paramedics to make sure staff are escalated where appropriate. They will also undertake investigations as appropriate. They will have responsibility for ensuring that the staff working in their group of stations are appropriately trained, are paid correctly, have access to kit, equipment and vehicles required to do their jobs, and are supported to be at work. They will also have a responsibility for maintaining the health and wellbeing of the staff working in the group they are managing - implementing health and wellbeing initiatives driven by the sector/area/organisation.
