Hold professional accountability for the Surgical Breast Care Nursing Service and is responsible for ensuring that service provision is met by effectively reviewing staffing rosters and allocating resource to meet service demand and patient preferences where possible. Contribute to the Multi-Disciplinary Team discussions, care planning and decision making to provide seamless co ordination and patient care across the patient pathway. Demonstrate highly developed communication skills enabling maintenance of high-quality service within a complex and challenging environment with often, conflicting priorities. Responsible for the provision of a high-quality professional nursing service across the surgical breast cancer services promoting best practice and implementing a review process that looks at quality and efficiency to meet the needs of patients and service. Provide professional leadership and management of the surgical breast care nursing team. Work with the hospital Clinical Governance / Service team in programs of work in modernising service About us Work collaboratively and in partnership with other disciplines, agencies and departments in the programme of modernisation. Contributes to development and implementation of local policies, procedures and guidelines across a number of departments, ensuring that clinical governance is embedded in practice. Overall budget responsibility, as directed by the Group Director of Nursing for resources across surgical breast CNS services monitoring variance and implementing contingency plans as appropriate, e.g., bank, agency expenditure and sickness. Demonstrate excellent leadership skills supporting the senior management team in service developments and lead as delegated on the implementation of these changes Undertake a variety of clinical skills and provide treatment/ advice as per speciality and scope of practice. Using agreed protocols of clinical practice and professional guidelines Responsible for the efficient management of processes e.g., complaints within a defined area; training and development; appraisal. Utilise information and IT systems to produce accurate and timely workforce and resource data and reports. Responsible for development, implementation, and evaluation of projects to improve patient care and experience service development through the audit cycle and patient feedback, linking to the clinical governance framework and business planning process. Undertake direct workload requiring moderate to high physical effort according to patient dependency or staff need.
